With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Glennie Withers Ziller of Meridian, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 16, 2024 at the age of 101. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Glennie Withers Ziller to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Washington Withers and Clara Robinson Withers; her brother John D. Ziller, Sr.; and her stepson John D. Ziller, Jr.. She is survived by: her granddaughter Easter; her daughters, Claire Ziller, Noel Ziller Smith (Tim), Lilibet Ziller Hagel (Chuck) and Babi Ziller; and her caregivers, Deborah Ramsey, Lessie Jones, Carolyn Phillips, Carolyn McCoy and Elanda Griggs. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She could recount memories of the 1930s bread lines and World War II, the Civil Rights Movement, hurricane Katrina, and health crises including polio and the COVID 19 pandemic. And while most centenarians are remembered for healthy diets and exercise, she always ate dessert first, preferred air conditioning and tended her roses in the evenings.
