John Austin Welch Obituary
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Barnes Cemetery in Taylorsville for John Austin Welch, 22 of Taylorsville, who passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Reverend Rocky Holston will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Barnes Cemetery in Taylorsville. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Gabe Branning, Dennis Sebolt, Timothy Thompson, Matthew Venable, Brandon Jones, and Chad Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Payton Welch, James R. Welch Jr., Colton Welch, Clarence Carnegie, Nathaniel Carnegie, Anthony Davis, Thomas Welch, and Daniel Welch.
Mr. Welch was born on November 24, 1996 in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a loving son and brother. Mr. Welch was a construction worker by trade. He attended the Willow Grove Baptist Church in Collins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Welch Sr. and Milton Williamson; his great-grandparents, Annie Welch, Shorty and Lucille Mann, Billy Greer, William Lowe, Ethel Lowe, and Dottie Sebolt; four uncles, Charles Welch Jr., Ted Carnegie, Clarence Walters, and Chris Thornton; and several cousins.
Survivors include his father and mother, James R. Welch, Sr. and Tracy Lowe Welch of Collins; his mother, Nona Bell Smith of Magee; four brothers, Gabe Branning of Magee, Payton Welch, James R. Welch, Jr., and Colton Welch, all of Collins; one sister, Allie Smith of Magee; his grandparents, Louise and Allen Putney, Thelma Williamson, Aleisha Greer Lowe, and Kenneth Lowe, Sr.; his great-grandmother, Lena Greer; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
