He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lloyd and Myra Metts (Causey); and his siblings, James Metts and Virginia Hill. He is survived by: his wife Martha Metts (Dodd); and his children, Reverend Joe Metts, Jr. (Teri) and Myra Arnold. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
