He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda Diane Polk Smith; his daughter Sheila Smith Phillips; his parents, Edgar Thornhill Smith and Laverna Dedeaux Smith; and his brothers, Dale Smith and Wilmon Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Wesley Ray Smith, Sr. and Dwight Daniel Smith; his grandchildren, Wesley Smith, Jr. (Rachel), David Smith (Brittany), Jeremy Smith (Jessica) and Tabitha Smith (Chad); and his brother David Smith. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.
