She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Butler and Jewel Ashley Dickerson Butler; and her siblings, Mary Lemon, Birtie Mae Kennedy, J. D. Butler, Billy Butler and Charles Butler.

She is survived by: her husband Curtis Whitfield; her children, Curtis Todd Whitfield and Debbie Laird (Robert); and her grandchildren, Adam Laird, April Laird, Dillon Whitfield, Christopher Whitfield and Ashley Whitfield. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
