He was predeceased by: his parents, Vonnie Runnels and Katie Cook Runnels; and his brother-in-law Ottis Garner. He is survived by: his wife Charla Runnels; his daughters, Bonnie Kilpatrick and Kelley Anderson (Matt); his grandchildren, John Kilpatrick II, Joseph Kilpatrick, Carter Anderson and Anna Anderson; and his sisters, Brenda Traxler (Sammy) and Gloria Garner.
