Betty Jean Bishop Obituary

As Betty Jean departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Betty Jean. Though Betty Jean may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hosie Temple and Lucy Cotten Temple; and her husband Elder Byron Tillmon "B. T." Bishop, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Alex Bishop (Elizabeth), Byron Tillmon Bishop, III (Rosemary), Dina Cothren (Mitch) and Lawanna Cothren (Gary); and her sister Billie Rose Stroud. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church (80 Edison St, Meadville, MS 39653). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
