He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. McCurdy and Valeria McCurdy (Sessums); and his siblings, Roger Dale McCurdy and Joyce Ann Wallace McCurdy. He is survived by: his children, James McCurdy (Jessica) of Forrest, Amy McCurdy (Richard) of Texas and Jodi McCurdy of Virginia; and his brother George McCurdy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
