He was predeceased by: his parents, William Deer and Mary Tarver Deer; his sisters, JoAnn Chunn, Irene Beeson and Mary Evelyn Linton; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Deer, Red Linton, K. C. Beeson, Albert Wicker, Carey Beeson and Darrell Chunn.
He is survived by: his wife Judy McGahey Deer of McComb; his children, Corey Deer (Monica) of Brandon, MS, Chad Deer of McComb, MS and Ashley Deer of Tylertown, MS; his stepsons, Jonathan Howell (Teresa) of Starkville, MS, Matthew Howell of Tylertown, MS and David Howell (Laura) of Baton Rouge, LA; his brothers, Henry Deer (Karen) and Thomas Deer of McComb, MS; his grandchildren, Carter Howell, Tristan Howell, Jacie Thibodeaux, Mason Deer, Emery Rose Howell, Eli Gonsales, Maddox Deer and Layla Deer; and his great grandchild Nola Thibodeaux. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
