It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gillis Dufrene Jr. (McComb, Mississippi), born in Larose, Louisiana, who passed away on December 20, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillis Joseph Dufrene, Sr. and Marie Gautreaux Dufrene; and his siblings, Edwis Dufrene, Sr. and Barba Champagne. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Dufrene (Kimberly) of Dallas, TX, Jody Dufrene of McComb, MS, Paulette Marceaux (James) of Lafayette, LA and Chelsea Jordan of Lockport, LA; his siblings, Rudy Dufrene, Sr. (Claire) of Lockport, LA, Teddy Dufrene (Carolyn) of Raceland, LA and Dianne Martinez (Tex) of Raceland, LA; his siblings-in-law, Franklin Champagne, Sr. of Raceland, LA and Velma Dufrene of Lockport, LA; and his grandchildren, Donavon Dufrene (Patience), Tori Dufrene, Brooke Dufrene and Jesse Marceaux. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
