She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Gordon Hamilton and Lydia Jones; her husband George Cowan; her sons, Sonny Cowan, Gordon Cowan and Robert Cowan; and her siblings, Charles Hamilton, Milton Hamilton, Oscar Gordon Hamilton Jr., Bill Hamilton, Josephine Temple, King, Annie Spears, Perla Daigrepont Scott, Alma Kirkland and Mary Helen Hamilton.
She is survived by: her son Herman Cowan of Denham Springs. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
