He was predeceased by: his parents, Gernie Beam and Mertle Smith Beam; his former wife Lucille Case Beam; his wife Dorothy Bass Beam; his son Charles Wayne Beam; and his siblings, Frank Beam, Bobby Beam and Marjorie Dunaway.
He is survived by: his son Gary Beam of New Orleans; and his sister Sarah Lou Caston of North Carolina. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
