It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bowdre McDowell of McComb, Mississippi, who passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell D. McDowell and Bessie Anders McDowell of Mars Hill; his siblings, Raiford McDowell, Thomas Hardin McDowell, Edwinta McDowell, Edith Fitzgerald and Jonnie Gordon; and his nieces and nephews, Gwendolyn Green, Carolyn Boyd, Jim East, Carl Lazenby, Al Gary and Bill Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his siblings, Anne Bardwell of McComb, MS and James D. McDowell (Ginny) of Bullhead City, AZ; and his nieces and nephews, Joyce Fitzgerald Barnes (Wayne) of Zachary, LA, Jeannie Fitzgerald Gary of Mendenhall, MS, Nancy Gordon Lazenby of McComb, MS, Linda Bardwell of McComb, MS, Jane Ellen (Tony) of Florence, MS, Janice Lee (Steve) of Tylertown, MS, Charles McDowell "Mac" Gordon (Mary Lee) of Blakely, GA, Reggie Bardwell (Bettie) of Greensburg, LA and Russell Bardwell of McComb, MS.
