He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Bethard Kirkland and Maxine Whatley Kirkland; his former wife Jenell Boudreaux Kirkland; his wife Theda Buckels Kirkland; and his siblings, Henry B. Kirkland, Jr., Tyler L. Kirkland, Julius Glynn Kirkland and Nancy Sue Kirkland.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna K. Woods (Gary) of Hattiesburg, MS; his stepchildren, Cheryl Jordan (Joe), Willie Buckels (Nancy), Ricky Buckels (Debbie) and Joey Buckels (Renae); and his siblings, Wayne Kirkland and Evelyn T. Halfin.
