He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Applewhite and Nora Smith Applewhite; and his siblings, Hilda Sweeney, Edith Dunigan, Marinell Applewhite, Nora Rae Applewhite, Harold Applewhite, Alton Applewhite and Melvin Applewhite.
He is survived by: his wife Frankie Carolyn Applewhite; his daughters, Carrie Gill (Billy) of McCall Creek, MS and Debra Zeigler (Doug) of McCall Creek, MS; his siblings, Helen Ketteringham of Brookhaven, MS, Carolyn Smith of Brookhaven and Glen Applewhite of Brookhaven, MS; and his friend Jimmy Cater. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
