He was predeceased by: his parents, R. C. Barnett and Sylvia Barnett; his brother Rannie Barnett; and his daughter Carly Barnett Mixon. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Tharpe Barnett of Navarre, Florida; his daughter Kelley Thornburg (Bradley) of Mobile, Alabama; his son-in-law Chad Mixon of Opp, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Grace Mixon, Cole Mixon, Tanner Thornburg, Harrison Thornburg, Callie Mixon and Taylor Thornburg.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to First Baptist Church Navarre Children's Ministry.
