He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene and Pedro Valdez, Sr.; his siblings, Phyllis Stivers, Raymond Valdez and Conrad Valdez; and his daughter Dawn Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Valdez; his sons, Pedro Valdez, III, Chico Valdez, Eric Sims and Justin Sims; and his sister Marcia Olfson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
