It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Mikell Monroe (Marion, Mississippi), born in Columbia, Mississippi, who passed away on September 21, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellie Sue and F. E. Monroe. He is survived by: his wife Betty Monroe; his son Mikell Scott Monroe; his siblings, Anna Dale Brinkman, Susie Monroe Walters (Wayne), Mary Jean McLaurin (Will) and Eddie Monroe (Suanne); and his grandchildren, Alex Monroe and Ava Monroe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
