He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Johnston and Vivian Johnston of Magnolia; his wife Gwen Johnston of Magnolia; his children, Shane Bassemier (Sonya) of Smithdale, Jeff Bassemier (Jennifer) of Moore, James Brister, Pat of Alabama, John Johnston of McComb, Anita Jordan (Dole) of Tylertown and Tabatha Brewer (Steve); and his siblings, Dale Johnston, Sr. (Elaine) of Magnolia and Marlene Nations (Don) of Bogue Chitto. He was also cherished by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
