He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cheley Frank and Elma Causey Carpenter; his wife Edith Mills Carpenter; his children, Cheley Carpenter, Jr. of Poplarville, MS, Rhonda Chisholm of Magnolia, Naomi Smith of Magnolia, Leitha McCullough (John) of Richton, MS and Ellen Sessions of Zachary, LA; his sister Peggy Carpenter Starkey of Houston, TX; his close friend Ralph Walters; his caregivers, Daniel Barclay, Faith Dyson and Valerie McGehee; and his pet Minnie Pearl. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
