He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Emmett and Teadie May McCormack Garrett; and his siblings, Mary Bess Garrett Gray, Robert Reford Garrett and Mack Arthur Garrett.
He is survived by: his children, Peggy Ann Jeanes, Janet Garrett Lutz, Charles E. Garrett, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Garrett; and his sister Joyce Hudson. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
