He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Fields and Margert Lucas; his son John Woods; and his siblings, Willie R. Dickey (Eddie Fields) and Nettie Abston Fields.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Luther Fairley (Kimbie), Kimberly Jones, Aliyah Wakil, Princess R. Clanton (Joshua), Tara Fairley (Scott), Lorie Webster (James) and Bahati Williams-Clark; and his close friend Octavia Ellis. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Tutor Funeral Home - Magee (822 Simpson Hwy 149, Magee, MS 39111). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Southern Memorial Gardens (822 Simpson Hwy 149, Magee, MS 39111).
