He was predeceased by: his parent Onie Gardner Yelverton; his wife McLendon Yelverton; his father Vernice Yelverton; his siblings, Sidney Yelverton, Mary Shelby (Cecil) and Sybil Lewis (Lem); and his granddaughter Kerri Dossey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Sheffield (Terry), Donna Wells (Larry) and Chris Dossey; his sisters, Dorothy Lewis (Jim) and Jo Sherman (Gent); and his great grandchild Austin Dossey (Hannah). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
