He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Sydney and Bertha Mae Russell; and his sisters, Sydney Bertha, Mary Nell, Clara Bell and Ruth.

He is survived by: his wife Marcia Seliskar Russell; and his children, Mark Russell (Martha), Kim Stennett (Joey), Vickie Hughes (Hank), Bryan Russell, Scott Russell (Heidi), Neil Russell and Skip Russell (Tracy). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (222 1st St NW, Magee, MS 39111). A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at the Magee City Cemetery (1212 1st Ave NE, Magee, MS 39111).
