He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie David Barnard and Bertie Wells Barnard; his grandson Tyler Scott Wallace; and his siblings, Wardell Barnard, James Barnard, Baby Boy Barnard, Mary Lou Tanner, Sue Spangler and Opal Walker.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Barnard; his children, Joseph Barnard (Barbara), Renee Barnard, Pat Barnard Wallace (Scott) and Tracy Barnard; his grandchildren, Eric Turcotte, Elizabeth Turcotte Craft (Dylan), Emily Wallace (CJ Jones), Kaci Wallace and Kati Jane Barnard; his brothers, Bennie Barnard (Arlene) and Kenny Barnard (Kathi); and his great grandchild Owen James Craft. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
