He is survived by: his wife Mary Joyce Carter; his children, William Maxwell Carter (Tennia) of New Hebron, Shellie Nations (James) of New Hebron and Mary Ellen Hux (David) of New Hebron; his grandchildren, Christian Nixon (Michael) of Florence, Megan Carter of New Hebron, Krysta Lofton (Dusty) of New Hebron, Jason Nations of New Hebron, Caitlyn Hux of New Hebron, Tyler Hux of New Hebron, Emily Hux of New Hebron and Jalynn Herrington of Bassfield; his great grandchildren, Riley Lofton of New Hebron and Jordan Nixon of Florence; and his brother Dannie Ray "Bat" Carter (Tammy) of Bassfield.
