She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Bell and Mabel McCool Bell; her husband Charles Denver Runnels; and her son Charles Dean Runnels. She is survived by: her daughters, Sonya Higginbotham (Tripp Higginbotham) of Hattiesburg and Laurie Leigh Runnels of Ridgeland; her grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Enger and Patrick Cole Higginbotham; and her siblings, Heywood Bell, Elvie Bell Roby, Susie Hale and Teresa Bryant.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Music Ministry.
