She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Burns and Retta Sims Burns; and her husband Sidney Summerlin. She is survived by: her children, Sid Summerlin, Keith Summerlin and Jason Summerlin (Kimberly); and her grandchildren, Ashley Marie Summerlin, Bryce Jacob Summerlin, Justin Ross Summerlin and Sybil Rachel Summerlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
