We are sad to announce that on October 11, 2023, at the age of 88, Louis Buford Yerger Jr. in Madison, Mississippi, born in Jackson, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Yerger and Margaret Hinton Yerger; and his sisters, Margaret Yerger Mallett and Anne Yerger Hooker (Charles). He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gay Bennett Yerger; his children, Michael Graeme Yerger (Beth), John Buford Yerger (Tina), Gay Mallory Yerger and Liz Yerger Fisher (Steve); and his sister Helen Yerger Blacklock (Bob). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

Dr. Yerger's contributions to medicine extended beyond the classroom, earning him a well-deserved place in the Hall of Fame at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine for Outstanding Achievement in Orthopedic Surgery and Rehab.
