She was predeceased by: her father James "Vernon" Smith; her brother James Vernon Smith, Jr.; and her niece Amy Smith of Weslaco, TX.. She is survived by: her mother Alice Smith of Madison, MS; her nephew Trey Smith; her great-nieces, Madeline Smith and Isabella Smith of Weslaco, TX; her nephew Kyle Smith (Mary); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Walker Smith and Rowan Smith of Atlanta, GA; and her pets, Jesse and Jasper.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Madison or Colon Cancer Research.
