He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Darrel Shaw and Mary Louise Shaw; his wife Paula Shaw; his son John Shaw of Nashville, TN; his sister-in-law Rebecca Freeman of Chattanooga, TN; his brother Dennis Shaw of Harvest, AL; and his cousin Carolyn Priddy of Kentucky. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

He and his wife had attended Northminster Baptist Church upon his transfer back to Mississippi, and also enjoyed virtual services at First Baptist Church Jackson during the pandemic.

Straight forward, intelligent, high standards and always gave his best. Jim was a tough but caring person and will be missed by many. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.
