She was predeceased by: her parents, James Albert Boykin Jr. and Joyee Dupuy Boykin of Delta City, MS.; her husband Louis Lamar "Buddy" Vandevender Jr.; and her brother Stan D. Boykin. She is survived by: her sister Patti Boykin Blakeway; her children, Mary Margaret McDonald (Keith), Allison Davis (Jason) and Louis Lamar "Van" Vandevender III (Natalie); and her grandchildren, Matt, Eli, Avery McDonald, Britt, Preston Davis, Coleman, Holland and Addie Reece Vandevender.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help those still fighting breast cancer.
