He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Starling and Marie Cousley Starling; and his daughter Sandra Starling Morrow. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Starling of Madison; his children, Karen Lynn Towry Holmes (Jack) of Madison, MS and James Houston Starling (Sally) of North Augusta, SC; his grandchildren, Jennifer Smith Morrison and Noah Jaxon Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Kate and Jake Morrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to French Camp, MSU Alumni or Madison ARK.
