He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Slater, Jr. and Lullene Thornton Slater; and his granddaughter Mary Elise Slater. He is survived by: his children, Rhoda Palmer (Tim), Nathan Holman (Meredith), Neilsen Holman (Jennifer), Sally Easterling (Chris), Thomas Slater (Jonathan) and Steven Slater (Mary Esther); his wife Vicki; his brother John (Doreen); and his sisters-in-law, Mitzi Stubbs, Sondra Toney (Lee) and Susan Thames (David). He is also survived by his children, 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
