She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Lindeman and Tynie Kinney Lindeman; and her adoptive son Michael Wayne McMurphy. She is survived by: her husband Horace McMurphy; her son James; and her granddaughters, Adriana and Emily.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Co-Operative Ministry Program, First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS.
