He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Wesley and Grace Elizabeth Ritch Dean; and his son Earnest Franklin Dean, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Albritton Dean. He is also survived by Eighteen Grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Local Law Enforcement.
