He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Gibson and Velma Gibson (Adams); his sons, Robert Keith "Rocky" Gibson and Baby Gibson; and his brothers, Burnis Howell, J. C. Howell and Carlton Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Gibson (Clark); his children, Belinda Gibson Johnson, Tabatha Gibson Pinter (Clay), Roger Gibson (Rebecca), Marty Gibson (Carla) and Tim Waller (Michelle); and his sister Myrtis Gibson Mizell. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
