He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Nicholson and Dessie Nicholson (Horn); his wife Jimmie Nicholson; his son Paul M. Nicholson; and his grandson Curtis Welford.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stella McKissick (Carl), Darlene Lewis (Mike) and Tina L. Goff.
