Mary J. Merritt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary J. Merritt of Lucedale, Mississippi, who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sanford McLeod and Ruby McLeod; her husband Bill A. Merritt; her son Billy Glenn Merritt; and her siblings, Dan McLeod, Sankie McLeod, W. H. McLeod and Carrie Lou McLeod.
She is survived by: her son Mark D. Merritt (Sylvia); her stepson Rick Merritt (Rosie); her sister Ann Summercell; her grandchildren, Madison Farris, Meagan Evans (Dillion), Jeannie Taylor (Larry), Darlana Merritt, Marissa Merritt, Jessica Cooney (Michael), Brandon Merritt (Lindsey) and Chase Merritt; and her sisters-in-law, Marie McLeod, Nancy McLeod and Nell Turner. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other family members and many wonderful friends.
