With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Monroe Rutledge Sr. in Lucedale, Mississippi, who passed away on January 14, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maynard Rutledge and Lillian Rutledge; his brother David Rutledge; and his former wife Barbara Shattles Rutledge. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rutledge; his children, Melanie Webb (Keith), Rhonda Hall (Les), James Rutledge Jr., Keith Howard (Tara), Kendall Howard (Jodie), Melinda Moody (Reggie) and Kellie Spiers (Harlon); and his sisters, Doris Klomparsons, Janice Jordan, Wanda Mallette (Ken) and Patricia Taylor. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (14146 MS-26, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
