He was predeceased by: his parents, Miller Brown and Jessie L. Cochran Brown; his brothers, Johnny Ray Brown and Raymond "Buck" Brown; his parents-in-law, Tom Hempstead Sr. and Ethel Mae Hempstead; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Hempstead Jr. and Hugh L. Dickens.
He is survived by: his wife Joanna Hempstead Brown; his children, Michele Starr (Mark) and Ben Brown (Angela); his grandchildren, Spence Landrum (Kendra), Taylor Landrum, Nicklaus Brown, Kate Brown, Conner Brown, Colton Doyce Brown, Joey Starr (Olivia), Jessi Lefkowitz (Ben), Aaron Clark (Leah) and Cody Parker (Ashton); his great grandchildren, Ryder Landrum, Grace Joanna Landrum, Waylon "Hand" Parker and Brendan Lefkowitz; his sisters-in-law, Doris Brown and Jeanette H Dickens; his nephews, Reid Ware, Doug Brown and Donnie Brown; and his niece Louise Smith.
