He was predeceased by: his father Dexter Cloyd Mizell, Sr.; and his grandparents, Marvin, Mattie Howard, John W. and Tometrice Breland Mizell.

He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Williamson (Andy); his mother Betty Jo Keller; and his siblings, Sylvia Jo Dunnam (David), Donald W. Mizell (Teresa), Marlene Broussard (George), Patricia White, Hope Freeman (Jamie), Cheri Thurston (Donald), Juanita Cowart and Dawn McArn (Craig). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
