He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Clay and Joe Clay. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Kemp Clay; his children, Susan Jackson of Starkville and Joe Clay (Amy) of Lake, MS; his grandchildren, A. J. Clay (Chasity), Hannah Stroud (Perry), Rachel Clay, Olivia Clay, Corey Jackson (Kayla), Cara Hughes (Todd) and Clay Jackson; and his great grandchildren, Tucker Clay, Bonnie Clay, Maryanne Stroud and Owen Jackson.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
