She was predeceased by: her parents, William Patterson and Earline Clark Patterson; her husband Darwin Whitmire; her son Wayne Whitmire; and her siblings, Mildred Patterson Donald, Faye Patterson McClure and Milton Patterson.
She is survived by: her sons, Steve Whitmire (Sandy) and Pete Whitmire (June) of Pensacola, Florida; and her sister-in-law Linda Swain. She is also survived by "Grandma" to her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
