He was predeceased by: his grandsons, Patrick Thames and Tyconan Estes; and his siblings, John Hester Thames, David C. Thames, Lenard Thames, Veterine Thames, Flora Rene Thames and Willie Sue Coleman.
He is survived by: his wife Ada Mae Thames; his children, Ethel Nicholson (Dreyxell), Lester Earl Thames of Louisville, MS., Robert Lee Shell of Walnut Grove, MS and Marcus Thames (Danna) of Arizona; and his siblings, Ethel Harwell (Craig) of Louisville, MS., Willie J. Thames (Ethel) of Louisville, MS., Fredrick Thames of Louisville, MS. and Amos Thames of Louisville, MS.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Beck Funeral Home- Louisville (226 North St, Louisville, MS 39339). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Warren Chapel Church of God in Christ (314 Pond Ave, Louisville, MS 39339). A burial was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery (4230 Weaver Sciples Mill Rd, De Kalb, MS 39328).
