He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulmer Thornton and Ida Warren Thornton; and his brother Douglas Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Onita Thornton; his sons, Nathan L. Thornton (Karen) and J. Nelson Thornton; and his grandchildren, Isaac Thornton, Cameron Thornton (Keri) and Samantha Bryson (Allan). He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
