He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Garvis, Sr. and Thelma Tisdale; his wife Maxine McLain Tisdale; his son Marvin Rae Tisdale; his brothers, Harold Richard Tisdale, Sr. and Jesse Marvin Tisdale; and his nephew Harold Richard Tisdale, Jr. (Robert).

He is survived by: his sons, Darrin Robert Tisdale (Karen), Mark Sidney Tisdale and Timothy Bryon Tisdale; and his brother Daniel Garvis Tisdale, Jr. (Mary Ann). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
