He was predeceased by: his parents, Randolph Smith and Phyllis Smith; his siblings, Bill Smith (Billie Sue), Thomas Maurice Smith (Carolyn), Denny Merle Smith (Thelma) and Gloria Blackwell; his siblings-in-law, Tommy Jenkins, David Smith and Lady Sue Smith; his nephews, Bennie Smith, Tommy Smith, Alan Smith and Randy Smith; his niece Patty McMurray; and his great-nephew Hunter Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Ann Marshall Smith; his children, Phyllis Smith Trochesset (Rossi) and David A. Smith (Duane); his siblings, Anthony Smith, Phillip Smith (Marie) and Gail Smith; his brother-in-law Bill Blackwell; his grandchildren, Megan Trochesset, Kandis Smith, Brooke Trochesset and Ginger Trochesset; and his nieces and nephews, Mike Smith, Jeff Smith, Robert Smith, Tony Smith, Josh Smith, Mickey Smith, Joe Smith, Tom Jenkins, Pam Bennet, Lorraine Smith, Darlene Lenz, Cynthia Smith, Paige Hanberry, Mary Sanderson, Angela Jenkins, Suzanna Miller and Roosevelt Parker.
