He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Bassett and Opal Bassett; his former life partner Gloria Curry Bassett; and his sister Barbara Bassett Ewing. He is survived by : his wife Dale Bassett; his sons, Charles W. Bassett and Jeffrey H. Bassett (Laura); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Gabrielle), Caroline and Joseph Bassett; his stepchildren, Donald E. Smith (Amy) and Laura Sheehan (Tommy); and his mother-in-law Lou Anne Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
