He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bassett and Opal Bassett; his former wife Gloria Curry Bassett; and his sister Barbara Bassett Ewing. He is survived by: his wife Dale Bassett; his sons, Charles W. Bassett and Jeffrey H. Bassett (Laura); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Gabrielle), Caroline and Joseph Bassett; his stepchildren, Donald E. Smith (Amy) and Laura Sheehan (Tommy); and his mother-in-law Lou Anne Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
