It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Bates (Liberty, Mississippi), who passed away on May 26, 2019, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Royan Winding, Jr. and Rosie Lee Robinson-Winding; and her siblings, Bobby Lewis Winding, Ulysses Winding, Jessie Winding, Williemenar Writt and Cathleen Galloway.
She is survived by: her husband Arthur Bates; her children, Xeivera Winding (Angela) of Summit, MS, Meneka Stepter, Treneka Bates of Liberty, MS and Krystal Minor (Jeremy) of Zachary, LA; her grandchildren, Miciah Bates, Treniah Spears, Miguel Bates, Xeiveshia Winding, Kassidy Minor, Jeremy Minor, Kaylie Minor and PaTara Martin; her great grandchild XeiNaire Everett; her siblings, Dorothy Hamilton (Bobby) of Liberty, MS, Evelaner Bates of Liberty, MS, Rowanner Allen (Elder James) of Liberty, MS, Betty Winding of Liberty, MS, Thomas Winding of Liberty, MS, Charles Winding (Tijwana) of Liberty, MS and Leontine Dennis of New Orleans, LA; her children, Tammy Johnson of Jackson, MS, Jennifer Johnson of New Orleans, LA and Kendrell Horton of McComb, MS; and her sisters-in-law, Artha Mease Williams and Mary Winding. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
